""This is a remarkable book from beginning to end."
Dr. John DeRosalia
"This is a remarkable book from beginning to end. And it's about a real man, not a mythical figure, but an average man of vision and courage who had the audacity to dream big and refused to quit in spite of what the world was offering in the way of adversity."
- Dr. John DeRosalia
"Instead of asking why, Brodsky-Chenfeld asks how. His book and presentation hold the answers to that question."
Professor Steve Briggs
"Dan writes about his life competing to win the world skydiving championship. Along the way he gets fleeced by his first business partner, almost flunks out of college as a theater major, nearly dies in a skydiving plane crash that kills his "little brother", and then not only recovers but goes on to achieve his ultimate goal. His self-deprecating humor keeps the book fun without confusing the message. "Above All Else" is an outstanding addition to this genre. Instead of asking why, Brodsky-Chenfeld asks how. His book and presentation hold the answers to that question."
- Professor Steve Briggs
"Your story was instrumental in getting me back into life..."
Michelle St Claire
"Dan, your book came out right after my near-fatal scuba accident and your story landed in my lap when I needed it most. Believe it or not your story was instrumental in getting me back into life...and back in the sky. Its a must-read for anyone who is frozen in fear, which can apply to ANY area of life and not just skydiving."
- Michelle St Claire, Vice President and COO at Security Industry

"He is a legend in the sport of skydiving and a phenomenal inspirational speaker."
Larry Miller
If you've never met Dan "BC" then it is your loss. He is a legend in the sport of skydiving and a phenomenal inspirational speaker. He carries with himself an abundance of excitement and charisma that cannot be ignored.
I have been on the Golden Knights competition team since 2004. There is no other person in skydiving that I have witnessed the Golden Knights speak so highly of or hold in such high regard. Like all other skydivers, we look up to him. He is the epitome of a competition skydiver. From his skill to his classiness.
On the day of the jump we were down a man. I believe it was sinuses. While many had offered to fill the void we respectfully declined. While Sean Sweeney and I were walking to the hangar to watch some replays we bumped into Dan. We chatted for a sec and he offered his assistance to help out our short comings in man power at the time. We chuckled and gave him the standard response. As he was offering his assistance the wheels were beginning to spin in my head. By the end of the conversation I told Dan that I would talk to the team and see if they wanted to do another jump that day.
We talked about it briefly. Briefly because it only took about 15 seconds to get everyone onboard. Now that everyone was willing I needed to get a hold of Dan.....
Everyone on my team to include me was giddy with excitement regarding everything about this jump. We get to do an 8 way jump with Dan BC. Who wouldn't be excited? We picked a fast sequence. We knew it was fast but expected that Dan would be able to handle it. If not impress us as well. Fast it was and impress us he did! Dan took our inside center slot(the slot to my right) moving Sean to his B Slot since Josh had sinus problems. During the jump I could feel Dan's confidence grow when he picked up my leg grips. About halfway through the jump we had reached max speed. We were now moving at the speed of "Holy crap! Go fast, pick up the right grips and don't brain lock".
My 8 way jump with Dan BC will be one of my favorite and most memorable jumps of all time. Thank you Sir!
-Larry Miller, World Champion Skydiver, US Army Golden Knights
